Campfire Cocktails With Andy Austin
This recipe will have you buzzing in the backcountry. It's a camp-friendly take on a classic espresso martini.
Our friend Andy Austin is an adventure and travel photographer based in Bozeman, Montana. He's also a hell of a backcountry bartender who's made a name for himself (at least among his friends and clients) for always having a tasty cocktail to whip up at camp or back at the truck after a long day out in the woods or on the river.
We've asked Andy to create some new recipes to share with the High Camp Flasks community this year. We want y'all to have some amazing drinks to try with your new flask, or give you the inspiration to develop a recipe of your own. As our founder Nic has said...just because you're outside, doesn't mean you have to drink like an animal. There's no reason you should limit yourself to cheap canned beer outside. With our bar-quality flasks, you can mix a premium cocktail and enjoy it anywhere.
An Espresso Martini - Campfire Style - How To Make An Instant Coffee Martini
The allure of the espresso martini lies in its perfect blend of rich, robust flavors and a satisfying caffeine kick, making it a favorite among cocktail enthusiasts. But when you’re out camping, you’re not gonna have a espresso machine handy. Thankfully several companies have developed some delicious instant coffee options. So just like an espresso martini, this instant coffee martini recipe balances the bitterness of coffee with the sweetness of coffee liqueur, the smoothness of vodka, and a dash of chocolate, offering an elevated taste experience that you typically won’t find around the campfire, or at the backyard BBQ.
This Instant Coffee Martini is easy to make batched at home before your adventure, or you bring a few ingredients for some in-the-field mixology—that was the idea behind the instant coffee. The espresso martini has exploded in popularity of late. Now you’ve got a version you can use to energize the conversation around your next campfire or after another adventure.
