We’re looking for a Product Development Manager to turn our next generation of products into reality—someone who thrives at the intersection of design, process, and execution.
The Role
The Product Development Manager drives the execution of all product initiatives, including new launches, product updates, special editions, SMUs, and accessories.
Reporting directly to the Co-Founder, you will turn green-lit concepts into manufacturable, market-ready products that align with High Camp’s brand milestones and storytelling moments. From design handoff through launch, you will manage timelines, prototypes, vendors, QA, and cross-team communication.
Key Responsibilities
Execution & Project Management
- Take ownership of approved concepts and drive them to market-ready status.
- Create and manage project plans with clear milestones, deadlines, and owner assignments.
- Track deliverables across prototyping, DFM, sampling, tooling, QA, compliance, and production.
- Coordinate with suppliers on quotes, tooling, pre-production samples, and production timelines.
Cross-Functional Coordination
- Keep design, ops, marketing, sales, and QA aligned on product status, deadlines, and risks.
- Ensure sales/marketing gets finalized specs, sales/photo samples, and delivery estimates in time for go-to-market.
- Push vendors and internal teams for fast turnarounds and issue resolution.
Quality & Risk Control
- Own the approval process for prototypes, samples, and first articles.
- Flag risks early: delays, cost overruns, QA issues, or compliance red flags.
- Manage inspection planning with QA vendors and drive corrective actions as needed.
Process Enforcement
- Maintain up-to-date product trackers, sample logs, QA records.
- Refine and enforce repeatable SOPs for product development and launch execution.
- Run post-mortems after each launch to capture cycle time, issues, and process gaps.
- Identify repeat blockers and propose improvements to systems or workflows.
Qualifications
- 6+ years in product development, industrial design management, or consumer goods manufacturing.
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Design, Manufacturing, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- Proven track record delivering physical products from concept handoff through production.
- Deep familiarity with manufacturing workflows, DFM, BOMs, QA processes, and factory coordination.
- Fluent in project tracking tools (Notion is a plus).
- Experience working with overseas vendors and enforcing timelines & deliverables.
- Comfortable with fast-paced environments, multi-project load, and hard deadlines.
Pay Scale
Base salary: $110K – $175K per year, depending on experience level and regional market, plus benefits and bonus.
