And the winner of our Tequila Time Summer Cocktail Contest is... drumroll please... the Huckleberry Mountain Smash. The creator also shared his inspiration for this tasty drink:
Huckleberry Mountain Smash
Late August in the High Alpine -- Cutthroat trout slash a royal wulff with pure abandonment. Vibrant wildflowers blossom along the valley floor as the scent of balsam and spruce swirl in the breeze. The high noon sun is gloriously relentless and the alpine angler's thirst needs quenching. Low bush huckleberries cling to the moss-covered crags-alluring with that sweet and tart taste.
Enter mezcal: rich, mysterious and packs a punch. A 1/4 hand full of hucks, a 1/2 shot of agave nectar, 1/2 a lime sliced thin with your old pocket knife and a 2oz pour of mezcal - muddle that up with any 'ol branch. Add a handful of ice and shake shake shake (we suggest in our Highball Shaker).
A bit more ice in your tumbler, a splash of club soda, pour and enjoy... as the sun sets along the granite spire.
2 oz Nosotros Mezcal
1 tsp agave nectar
1/4 cup of fresh huckleberries
Add berries, mezcal, lime and agave to your Highball shaker and muddle.
Add ice and shake vigorously.
