No dock? No problem. Mix up a batch of the legendary Caribbean cocktail that made swimming to the bar totally worth it.
Picture this: It’s the 1970s in the British Virgin Islands. You’re dropping anchor off the coast of a little beachside joint called the Soggy Dollar Bar. There is no dock, so you have to jump in and swim ashore to get a drink—leaving you with a pocket full of damp currency. Your reward for the trek? A rich, tropical concoction special to the Soggy Dollar known as the Painkiller.
While you probably aren't swimming to a white-sand bar in the Caribbean this weekend 😭, you can bring some of that island escapism to your backyard, or wherever you rally the group text weekend.
How you ask? With the help of The Friday Fill and our friend, James Witty, one of the finest mixologists on 'the gram. His Painkiller is vibrant, dangerously delicious, and guaranteed to cure your week-day blues. Better yet, James has scaled this recipe specifically for the Highball Shaker, meaning you can easily measure, mix, and pack enough for the whole crew without playing bartender all afternoon.
Whether you are hitting the actual coast or just posting up by the backyard kiddie pool, this batch is guaranteed to bring the sunshine.

The Recipe: Batch Painkiller Cocktail
This recipe yields the perfect batch for sharing.
- 6 oz Your Favorite Rum (Dark or Navy rum is traditional!)
- 12 oz Pineapple Juice
- 3 oz Orange Juice
- 3 oz Cream of Coconut
- Ice for shaking and serving
How to Make It:
- Measure & Combine: Using the extra-large jigger cap of your shaker, measure the rum, pineapple juice, orange juice, and cream of coconut directly into the shaker.
- Ice & Seal: Add a generous scoop of ice, put the strainer and lid in place, and seal it up tight.
- Hit the Beach: Pack your insulated shaker and head to your sunny destination.
- Shake & Pour: Once you arrive, give the sealed shaker a vigorous shake to mix and chill the ingredients. Pour through the built-in strainer over fresh ice, and enjoy! (Pro tip: Add a dash of fresh grated nutmeg on top if you want the authentic Soggy Dollar experience).

Shake It Up: The Highball Shaker
When you are batching drinks for a group, standard bar tools just don't cut it. James used the Highball Shaker for this batch, and it is the ultimate cheat code for taking craft cocktails on the go.
Here is why it is the perfect tool for your summer Painkillers:
- Extra-Large Jigger: Almost every home bartender comments on the included UpScale jigger, featuring two sides and 6 different measurements up to 4-ounces. Batching has never been easier.
- Built-In Strainer: The cleverly designed lid has a built-in strainer, holding back the shaking ice so you get a perfectly smooth pour at the beach.
- Vacuum-Insulated: Double-wall insulation ensures the shaker won't slip or freeze your hands while you shake. Plus, if you make back-to-back batches, you can leave the "refills" in the shaker to easily top-off everyone's glass.
- Zero Mess: Leak-proof and durable, it is built to be tossed in a beach bag...even when it's full.
